Laborist- Full-Time Opportunity with Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group to work at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns
Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns is Southern Californias only standalone womens hospital. SMB is part of Sharp HealthCare, is a 206 bed, not for profit hospital delivering more babies than any other hospital in California.
Position Details:
- Full-Time Contract: Minimum of 8 shifts/month with option to work 2 half days/month in clinic
- Full-Time Contract shift rates: $2,500.00 per twelve-hour hospital shift; $600 per half day clinic shift
- PAID VACATION, CME and SICK time plus CME allowance.

- Hospital shifts: 7:00pm to 7:00am
- Clinic shifts: 8:00am-5:00pm (optional)
- Full specialty back up including 24 hr perinatal and GYN/ONC service w/dedicated OB anesthesia
- Responsible for L&D, triage, postpartum, ED Calls and occasional GYN emergency surgery (ectopic)
- Most calls taken with experienced CNMs. Back-up physicians always available
- On-site overnight provider room
- Hospital delivers :9,000 babies per year, highest volume in the state of California!
- Group delivers :4,000 babies per year
- Southern Californias largest Level III NICU, plus advanced care for high-risk pregnancy
- Comfortable covering a busy L&D with at least 3 years experience, 5 preferred
- Must be able to receive privileges for basic laparoscopy including management of ectopic pregnancies (must have completed 10 cases within the last 2 years to qualify)
- Must be Board Certified to be considered

- Group provides patients a full range of services across 29 different specialties
- All clinics have a lead RN, triage RN, LVNs and 1:1 Provider/MA ratio plus operations team
- Integrated EMR system allows for seamless communication among group PCP's & specialists
- Group has 200+ primary care providers throughout the county; built in referral system
