As the Camera Lead, you will be a key technical expert within the hardware team, responsible for supporting the integration of high-quality sensor data into our driver model. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape in automotive sensor technologies. You will also create sensor quality guidelines for our product offerings and provide domain expertise in integration, debugging, and testing. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help build out test capabilities and enable experiments in collaboration with software and model development teams. Key responsibilities: Continuously monitor and analyze advancements in automotive sensor technologies and image processing. Maintain an up-to-date internal knowledge base on the competitive landscape of sensor technologies to ensure our software can accommodate the latest developments. Develop and enforce guidelines that ensure the images and sensor data fed into our models maintain high quality standards. This includes establishing best practices for sensor calibration, noise reduction, image resolution, and dynamic range. Provide domain expertise for integrating sensor data into the AV2.0 driver model. Offer guidance on debugging sensor-related issues, ensuring that data from different sensor types is appropriately processed and incorporated into the model for optimal results. Build and enhance test frameworks to evaluate the impact of different sensor inputs on model performance. Work with cross-functional teams to design experiments that assess the effectiveness of sensor data under varying conditions and optimize data collection strategies. Work closely with software and model development teams to ensure sensor data is processed and utilized correctly within the driver model. Drive experimentation to identify and implement improvements in sensor data handling that positively impact model performance. About you

In order to set you up for success as a Camera Lead at Wayve, we’re looking for the following skills and experience. Proven experience working with automotive sensor technologies and their integration into software-driven systems. Experience in image quality control, including calibration, resolution, noise handling, and dynamic range considerations. Strong communication and presentation skills Team player effective at cross-functional collaboration with teams of varying technical backgrounds Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate the impact of sensor data on model performance Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively across teams Basic scripting capabilities in python, bash, etc. ADAS or Autonomous Vehicle Experience This is a full-time role based in our office in Sunnyvale.
