A nationally recognized AmLaw 100 firm is looking for a junior-level Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney to join its highly regarded Tax, Trusts & Estates, and Employee Benefits Practice Group. This opportunity is available in either their San Francisco or Del Mar (San Diego) office, and offers mentorship, sophisticated work, and long-term growth within a collaborative team. The firm advises high-net-worth individuals and families on estate planning, wealth transfer, and tax strategy, often involving multi-generational trusts, charitable planning, and cross-border considerations.

Job Details
Responsibilities
* Draft complex estate planning documents including revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, wills, and powers of attorney * Advise individuals and families on wealth transfer strategies, gift and estate tax planning, and charitable giving * Assist with probate and trust administration matters, including fiduciary accounting and tax filings * Conduct legal research and analysis to support estate planning and tax positions * Collaborate with partners and senior associates on high-value and multi-jurisdictional planning matters * Participate in client meetings, strategy sessions, and planning discussions with family offices and advisors * Remain current on developments in federal and California trust and estate law
Requirements
* Juris Doctor (JD) and at least 1–3 years of trusts & estates experience at a law firm or boutique * Active membership in the California Bar, or eligibility for immediate admission * Demonstrated interest in sophisticated estate planning and wealth transfer strategies * Strong academic credentials and excellent written and oral communication skills * Detail-oriented and able to handle complex legal and financial documents * LL.M. in Taxation or CPA designation is a plus, but not required * Experience with high-net-worth clients and multi-generational planning is strongly preferred
