Our client, a recognized leader in the government contracting sector, provides cutting-edge Enterprise Security and Cloud Computing solutions to support large-scale federal and private sector programs. They are currently seeking a Software Engineer with a minimum of 7 years of experience to join a high-performing agile team supporting a nationally significant program. This program employs Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies, leverages DevOps best practices, and uses robust test and production environments. Automation, Behavior Driven Development (BDD), and a full suite of collaboration tools support development workflows focused on delivering advanced technical capabilities.
Responsibilities: Perform hands-on software development both independently and as part of an agile team Participate in program increment planning and team sprint activities Analyze complex system requirements and use formal design methodologies (e.g., CASE tools, data flow diagrams) Apply sound software engineering principles to ensure code is efficient, secure, and reusable Support process management, code reviews, and shared development practices Engineer and document automation scripts in development environments for deployment to production Required Qualifications: Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience) Strong Java development experience Experience with one or more: Python, C/C++, SQL, SOAP, WSDL, PowerShell, VBS, Eclipse, Oracle, Jenkins, and Postgres Familiarity with UI development, XML/XSLT, and working knowledge of Windows and/or Linux OS Understanding of secure, maintainable, and testable code development practices Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment Preferred Qualifications: Experience with JEE, Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss, and scripting languages Background in secure systems engineering, requirements decomposition, interface control, and CI/CD pipelines Familiarity with Agile development practices such as Pair Programming, BDD, Refactoring, and TDD Hands-on experience with tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, Mockito, Unified Functional Tester (UFT), and FITNesse Exposure to the SAFe Agile methodology; SAFe Agilist certification is a plus Knowledge of secure software development and Layer 7 policy configuration
