Our client is currently looking for a Lead Design Engineer in Birmingham, AL. This is a direct hire role that will pay up to $120,000/Year with full benefits.

Job Details
We are looking for a hands-on Design Lead to guide the development of innovative modular healthcare components. You’ll start by working with our design team on projects such as medical headwalls and bathrooms, with opportunities to contribute to full patient room modules.
What You’ll Do
Lead the design of healthcare modules, including volumetric and wall panel products
Manage a team of product designers and coordinators to produce documents for coordination and manufacturing
Collaborate with design, engineering, and fabrication teams to refine product designs
Ensure modular components meet regulatory compliance, system performance, and user experience standards
Create and maintain quality tools such as work standards, processes, and checklists
Serve as a client point of contact for program design standards and design changes
Oversee creation of Bill of Materials (BOM) for cost estimates and material procurement
Support product development through material specification and prototype construction
What We’re Looking For
Required:
Minimum 5 years of Revit experience (or equivalent skill)
Working knowledge of standard construction methods
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage both urgent manufacturing needs and long-term design projects
Comfortable working in office, manufacturing, and construction settings
Preferred:
Experience with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Architecture, Engineering, or related field
Previous experience as a designer or similar role
