Schedule: PRN, as-needed, start time for Monday - Friday coverage varies between 7a-8:30a, occasional Saturday coverage needed 7a-3:30p

Summary: Produces breast radiographs upon physician's order to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Performs routine staff technologist duties as time permits. Understands methods and is capable of providing or assisting with physical breast inspection or palpation.
Formal Education Required: - Graduate of an A.M.A. approved school of Radiologic Technology. - Registered by the A.R.R.T. and A.R.R.T. Mammography Certification
Experience and Training Required: - Successful completion of training to perform other radiology procedures
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications: - Near visual acuity to assess film quality. - Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism in dealing with stressful situations and confidential personal information. - Good written and oral communication skills. - Manual dexterity sufficient to calibrate and operate equipment, properly position patients, and to apply and adjust compression devices. Ability to lift and position patients. - Ability to utilize computer system and file system to facilitate records management as directed by Manager and/or Supervisor. - Ability to initiate CPR (CPR Certification). - Ability to perform venipuncture (this requirement may be waived at designated locations) - Updates knowledge and skills through membership participation in professional associations, attending meetings and seminars, and reading professional journals and periodicals. - Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
