You will execute requested development tests, achieving accurate and repeatable data while making efficient use of the test cell. Seek to continuously elevate testing quality and efficiency via equipment, procedure, and test cycle recommendations. What matters most
To excel as a Development Engine Test Cell Operator at Roush Yates Racing Engines, candidates should possess a robust set of technical skills and a keen attention to detail. Complete development tests by: Preparing the cell and instrumentation for all development testing requirements Installing the engine in the test cell Programming the test cell control to meet the test plan goals, with Test Engineer support ECU calibration programming and data logging configuration Operating the test cell and running the engine to accomplish test plan goals while ensuring the safety of the test cell, the engine, and all personnel in the cell Performing the required engine hardware changes specified in the plan, including the following changes:
Manifolds Cylinder Heads Camshafts Valvetrain components Headers Oil Pump, Water Pump, Alternator
Post-processing test cell data in a timely manner to allow it to guide development paths Work directly with a Test Engineer to ensure accurate and timely test data conclusions Maintaining the test cell and supporting equipment in proper operating condition with the necessary maintenance JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Development testing-engine dynamometer operation experience Hands-on engine work experience with standard engine build hand tools, measurement tools and diagnostic tools Knowledge of internal combustion engine operation fundamentals. Proficiency with valvetrain mechanical installation (lash, bind, lift, piston-valve clearance, push-rod length...) Ability to work in a high-pressure environment Experience with AVL PUMA/BOBCAT, MTS ADAPT Experience with McLaren System Monitor and Atlas is a plus Knowledge, application, and diagnosis (multi-meter and o-scope) of electric circuits A technical associate's degree minimum, BS in engineering desired equipment used
AC, Eddy-Current, and Water Brake Dynamometers AVL PUMA, AVL BOBCAT, MTS ADAPT MS Excel General Engine-Build Hand and Measurement Tools POSITION REQUIREMENTS
This individual must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. We want you to be safe, so you will be required to follow company established safety procedures.
