A well-established and reputable healthcare organization in the Hudson Valley region is seeking a highly skilled Pathology Laboratory Supervisor to lead the operations of its clinical and pathology laboratory. This is a full-time position based in Poughkeepsie, NY, offering competitive compensation and an opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic and patient-focused environment. Position Summary: As the Lab Supervisor, you will serve as the managing technologist under the guidance of the Lab Director. Your role will involve overseeing daily laboratory operations, maintaining regulatory compliance, supervising technical staff, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of laboratory results. You will also remain hands-on in lab work, functioning as a bench technologist approximately 50% of the time. Key Responsibilities: Perform laboratory testing in microbiology, histology (grossing), urine cytology, semen analysis, and urinalysis Supervise and manage laboratory personnel, including scheduling, timekeeping, and performance evaluations Oversee daily lab operations, including maintenance of equipment and laboratory information systems Maintain all documentation and procedures in accordance with state and federal regulations Monitor compliance with accreditation standards and report deficiencies Assist in test implementation and equipment validation Coordinate proficiency testing and continuing education for staff Manage specimen audits and prepare quality assurance reports for quarterly review meetings Act as coordinator on Health Commerce System (HCS) for ECLRS reporting and eCLEP duties Perform other duties as assigned Job Requirements Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field Current NYS Medical Technologist license Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Medical Technologist Demonstrated leadership experience in a NYS-certified lab (preferred) Experience with histology and microbiology processes is a plus Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Commitment to ongoing professional development and compliance
