Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Repair Technician to perform installation, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on a wide range of CNC machinery and facility equipment. This journey-level position requires expertise in troubleshooting complex electronic and mechanical issues to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of manufacturing systems. The technician will play a key role in minimizing unplanned production downtime and maintaining a safe working environment.
Essential Job Functions Diagnose and repair CNC machinery including mills, lathes, routers, and associated control systems. Troubleshoot and resolve electronic issues involving PLCs, servo motors, drives, and control circuits. Perform mechanical repairs including hydraulics, pneumatics, and precision alignments. Complete maintenance work orders and document all repairs and inspections accurately. Conduct preventative maintenance based on manufacturer schedules and internal protocols. Train machine operators and new employees on equipment operation and basic troubleshooting. Support compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards. Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor to source and manage spare parts inventory. Work with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or upgrades. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime and improving equipment reliability. Operate production machinery during peak periods as directed by the Facility Manager. Attend training sessions to stay current with evolving CNC technologies and repair techniques. Additionally, employees share in the responsibility and accountability for safety in our workplace, not only for themselves but for their fellow workers as well.
Requirements:
Qualifications & Competencies: Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair CNC equipment and facility systems (electrical, pneumatic, mechanical). Strong understanding of control systems, schematics, and technical documentation. Excellent communication skills for working with team members and external vendors. Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC repair or industrial maintenance. Trade School or Associate’s Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods (>75% of the time). Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly. Visual acuity for close-range work and machine adjustments. Manual dexterity to operate and adjust machinery precisely.
Work Environment
The work environment is typical of most shop environments; not climate controlled and subject to outdoor weather conditions. Team members are exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting. Frequent exposure to fumes/dust particles; may require use of respirators or other types of PPE. May come in contact with toxic or caustic chemicals.
