Job Description Description: Responsible to inspect, maintain and repair all equipment, property and buildings associated with Company operations. Is accountable to deliver equipment, property and buildings that are fabricated, maintained and repaired 100% in compliance with applicable safety and operating standards. Responsible to maintain all documents, records and files to support Maintenance department activities.
Based on the demonstrated skill set, knowledge, continuing education, maintenance expertise and compliance with Company safety and quality requirements, individuals in the Maintenance Mechanic position will be classed by wage grade commencing at Maintenance Mechanic A - 4 and ending at Maintenance Mechanic A - 1.
Duties and Responsibilities 1. Inspect, repair and perform routine maintenance on all equipment, property and buildings associated with Company operations consistent with Maintenance Department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to support 100% safe operations and in compliance with Company quality standards and systems. a. Complete assigned daily scheduled equipment, property and Company building inspections. Take all corrective action needed up to and including the restriction or removal of the equipment or property from daily operations. b. Complete regularly scheduled preventive maintenance consistent with Maintenance Department SOP 2. Identify and correctly diagnose reported equipment, property and building problems. Complete all required repairs. Request assistance and consult others as needed. All repair and maintenance solutions must meet or exceed applicable Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements. 3. Maintain all equipment property and building inspection, repair and preventive maintenance schedules, logs, files and records. Work with Manufacturing
Management/Supervision
and other Company Managers to schedule/complete all maintenance and repairs with a minimum of disruption to daily operations. 4. Properly store and maintain all company issued tools and related equipment. Requisition required new tools and replacements for Manager approval. 5. Maintain a self-improvement program through the regular completion of course work, attendance at topical seminars and readings to continually develop the individual’s equipment, property and building maintenance skill set, knowledge and expertise.

Materials, Tools and Equipment Used : Common hand and power tools used in a vehicle and manufacturing maintenance environment. Welding (gas/stick/mig) and burning equipment. Common vehicle inspection, maintenance and manufacturing maintenance diagnostic equipment. personal computer and printer, telephone, copier and fax machine. Required safety equipment includes hardhat, steel toe boots, industrial safety glasses, hearing protection, work gloves and respirator.

Performance in this position is evaluated objectively by the condition of assigned Company equipment, property and buildings, the timely completion of all assigned inspection, repair and preventive maintenance projects and the timely and accurate completion of all Maintenance records, logs and files. Subjectively, performance in this position is evaluated by the satisfaction of Company Managers with the
inspection/preventive
maintenance tasks completed by the employee, the employee’s productivity, the employee’s demonstrated current skill set, knowledge and expertise, inspection, maintenance and repair creativity and the employee’s continued skill development.
Requirements:
Position Requirements High School or Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED). Maintenance Mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment required, five (5) years preferred Demonstrated skills in the maintenance of a broad range of equipment in a heavy manufacturing environment and the identification and diagnosis of plant and equipment operating problems. Demonstrated skills with common hand and power tools. Electrical power distribution (480v/3 phase) experience required. Experience with common PC office applications such as MS Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes required. Within 14 days from date of hire must pass in-house certification of tow motor operation and hi-reach operation. Must be able to work at heights. Must be able to work in confined spaces. Pipe installation experience desired. Overhead crane experience preferred. Hydraulic/pneumatic/water
distribution system experience desired.
