Pay range: $43.00 - $55.00, based on experience

Main Function:
Coordinates the patient flow and staffing. This position represents the Hospital Administration for all administrative issues that arise during the “off shifts”.
Assures that management plans set into action by department managers are carried through during off shift hours.
Role model & resource for professional nursing & ancillary staff, assuring that quality care is provided.
Coordinates resources to meet and exceed the needs and expectations of our customers.

Actively supports the philosophy, vision, mission, goals and objectives of the Department of Nursing and the Health System.
Responsible for the management of human resources, facilitating interdisciplinary, collaborative relationships within each department and the system as a whole. Additionally, this position is responsible for administering projects to meet objectives as defined by the Vice President Patient Care Services/CNO.
Requirements:
Mature, energetic and creative individual who demonstrates leadership qualities demanded in a rapidly changing health care environment.
Previous demonstrated success in managing daily operations, and personnel is preferred.
A willingness to learn, advocate and pursue excellence is necessary.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Current NYS licensure and registration required.
Education:
Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing.
Holds, or is able to obtain, a New York State license to practice nursing. BSN degree in nursing is required or willingness to complete within a 3-4 year time frame.
ACLS certification required or willingness to complete within 1 year.
Telemetry certification required.
Certification in a clinical specialty or health care administration field required, or willingness to complete within 2 years.
Experience:
Has 3-5 years recent progressive experience in acute care setting including involvement in direct patient care, educating staff, supervising personnel, problem solving of unit or organizational issues.
Evidence of career advancement and progressive increase in responsibilities within the health care environment is essential. Demonstration of sound ethical principles, advanced communication style and interpersonal skills development is necessary.
Complexity of Duties:
Demonstrates skills in daily communications including effectively gathering and disseminating information, using that information to exercise judgment in application of existing policies.
Independently and cooperatively able to manage multiple priorities.
Supervises nursing staff on duty and acts in the place of department managers directing their staff if need arises. Is the administrator on site during off shift hours and assures facility operations.
Pay Range: $43.00 - $55.00
