Director of Sales

The Director of Sales will be responsible for generating top-line revenue to meet or exceed budget expectations for the property. Responsibilities include effectively soliciting existing and potential accounts and business generators to contribute to the overall revenue of the hotel. The ideal candidate must be able to communicate effectively with clients and management, be a motivated self-starter, take direction, and contribute to the success of the property and the company.

Requirements:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Achieve monthly revenue goals and increase market share.
  • Seek out new business and build relationships with clients.
  • Negotiate contracts within hotel policies.
  • Train staff on sales efforts and contributions.
  • Manage time effectively between sales calls, research, and tasks.
  • Research potential clients to generate new revenue.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries, even remotely.
  • Represent the hotel in the community.
  • Maintain relationships with top clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualified candidates must have:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Professional demeanor
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Attention to detail in follow-up
  • Strong computer skills
  • Reliable vehicle access

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years of hotel sales experience
  • IHG experience preferred

Compensation is based on experience, with a bonus plan for meeting goals.
