Evergreen Care Center, a small family owned and operated facility located in Fresno, California, is seeking a Certified Director of Staff Development to fulfill a role overseeing the wound program in our 49-bed, secured memory care facility. The ideal candidate would possess a Director of Staff Development Certification, along with Wound Certification or verifiable Wound Care experience. Wage range: $32 to $45 per hour

Position Description

Responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining a program of professional development in the clinical department in accordance with current Federal, State, and company standards, guidelines, and regulations. Demonstrates and teaches resident care in classroom and clinical settings to nursing staff. Instructs in principles and application of physical, biological, and psychological subjects related to nursing and resident care.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Assesses the training needs of nursing staff to develop, implement, evaluate, and document staff development programs including General Orientation, Job Specific Orientation, In-Service, and Continuing Education Programs for nursing department personnel.
  • Identifies, plans, implements, directs, and evaluates educational programs within the facility based on individual facility needs, resident needs, and in compliance with State and Federal regulations; implements these programs across all shifts.
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, and conducting required in-service programs and/or special training sessions in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Nursing (designee) to complete periodic needs assessments, identifying ongoing learning needs of staff and assisting in developing educational programs to meet those needs.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation of educational programs, individual employee attendance, and competency validation as needed.

Qualifications

  • Currently licensed as an LVN or RN in the state of practice.
  • Associate or Bachelor Degree from an accredited nursing school preferred.
  • At least 1 year of nursing education experience required.
