Executive Summary

The General Manager for the South Region of Shaw Residential Division is a strategic business leader responsible for executing the company’s growth strategy across a uniquely complex and high-value geography. With full P&L ownership, the GM will lead cross-functional operations spanning sales, marketing, merchandising, supply chain, inventory, and customer experience. This role demands a seasoned operator executive with deep financial acumen, a diverse background across building materials, and the ability to translate brand vision into market-specific execution. Reporting to the President, Residential Division, the GM will act as the CEO of their region, driving performance through strategic product assortment, supply chain optimization, pricing, and customer-centric innovation. The role must reside and work in the South Region, ideally in Texas, Atlanta, Charlotte, or Raleigh.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Execution: Deploy corporate strategy within the South geography, tailoring tactics to local market dynamics and customer needs.

P&L Ownership: Manage all financial levers including pricing, promotions, cost-to-serve, and inventory to deliver profitable growth.

Cross-Functional Leadership: Coordinate with internal stakeholders across sales, marketing, supply chain, product, and finance to align execution.

Customer & Market Insight: Build deep relationships with builder and multifamily customers; collect and relay market intelligence to influence product and brand strategy.

Supply Chain Optimization: Own inventory strategy across mega RDCs and regional hubs; ensure product availability aligns with market demand and service level expectations.

Sample Management: Oversee the sample budget and execution strategy to ensure timely and effective sample distribution aligned with customer needs and product launches.

Brand Deployment: Translate brand vision into actionable regional plans, including product assortment, style, and design tailored to customer preferences.

Sales Enablement & Incentives: Partner with internal teams to assess and refine sales compensation plans and enablement tools to drive performance.

Data-Driven Decision Making: Lead market data collection and analysis to inform strategic decisions and product development.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and 10 years of leadership experiences across sales, marketing, supply chain, operations or an equivalent combination of education and experiences

Background in building materials such as flooring, appliances, cabinetry, plumbing, windows, siding, roofing, or other home repair and remodel building construction

Deep financial and business acumen; understanding P&L drivers

Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams in complex, matrixed environments

Must live in market with ability to travel 20–50% with seasonal fluctuations

Highly preferred skills and experiences:

Proven success in general management role with full P&L responsibility

Diverse leadership experience across multiple disciplines such as sales, marketing, supply chain, brand, product

Strong financial and business acumen; ability to connect strategic dots across functions

Achievement of regional income statement targets

Market share growth in builder and multifamily segments preferably in the South

Inventory efficiency and service level improvements
