ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Class Instruction
  • Coach pre-choreographed or freestyle group sessions and classes to members of varying fitness levels, in person or via virtual technology.
  • Create a welcoming, encouraging, and challenging environment for members during sessions.
  • Ensure safety and quality by educating members on proper techniques and guidelines.
  • Increase attendance by connecting with and motivating members.
  • Maintain an average of at least 2 classes coached per week.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional service through positive interactions before and after classes.
    • Address member concerns or direct them to management.
    • Report equipment issues and maintenance needs.
    • Recruit new members for classes.
    • Start and end classes on time.
    • Maintain a clean, friendly, and well-organized club environment.
  • Administrative
    • Arrange substitutes for classes following company policy.
    • Maintain an active social media presence to attract participants.
    • Attend staff meetings as required.

    ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS

    This role reports to the General Manager and interacts with all staff, members, and guests.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Knowledge of safe exercise techniques and principles.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to connect with diverse individuals.
    • Energetic and enthusiastic approach to fostering community.
    • Passion for fitness and wellness.

    Minimum Educational Level/Certifications

    • Current approved primary certification for the taught format.
    • High School Diploma or GED.

    Minimum Work Experience

    • Previous group exercise instruction experience preferred.

    Physical Demands & Environment

    • Includes lifting, squatting, bending, reaching, hopping, jumping, kicking, and prolonged standing and walking.
    • Work environment may include moving mechanical parts and loud noise levels.
    • Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.

    BENEFITS & COMPENSATION

    Benefits include health coverage, paid time off, insurance, 401k, and complimentary membership. Pay range: $27.17 - $30.18, based on experience and location.
