About The Role

AgencyQ is looking for a Director of Finance responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Director will work closely with the CEO to ensure timely and accurate completion of work, managing activities such as general ledger, financial reporting, audit preparation, and supporting budget and forecast activities. This role requires strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, as it involves contact with the CEO, senior executives, and the Board.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting activities ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
  • Oversee daily activities for GL, AP, AR, revenue, commissions, and payroll.
  • Manage the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and cost allocations.
  • Track bookings, revenue, MRR, deferred revenue, customer acquisition costs, and KPIs.
  • Prepare and review financial statements per GAAP.
  • Prepare budgets, analyze financial data, and recommend plans; develop forecasts.
  • Review contracts to ensure revenue recognition aligns with GAAP.
  • Implement internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and asset safeguarding.
  • Manage government reporting and tax filings.
  • Lead financial audits and manage disclosures.
  • Ensure timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes.
  • Optimize department procedures and resource use.
  • Respond to inquiries from senior management.
  • Ensure all reporting deadlines are met.
  • Support workflow improvements and staff training.
  • Set goals for staff development and monitor progress.
  • Assist CEO with special projects and process improvements.
  • Present analyses to the executive team.
  • Manage banking relationships and outside audits.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop staff.

Skills/Knowledge/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • CPA preferred.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Adaptable to change.
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP standards.
