Overview

The Group Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting and familiarizing with all accounts within their market segments, prospecting, and closing on assigned accounts to positively impact hotel revenues.

Responsibilities

  1. Attend daily Highgate Hotel Business Review (HHBR) meetings.
  2. Develop a comprehensive understanding of hotel operations, including Food and Beverage, Guest Services, and Reservations.
  3. Learn and adhere to company sales policies and SOPs, ensuring the sales team complies.
  4. Meet or exceed sales goals.
  5. Manage the Sales Department within the established budget.
  6. Initiate and follow up on leads.
  7. Maintain an active sales solicitation program.
  8. Monitor top account production and market trends.
  9. Regularly contact existing accounts based on the Account Coverage Program.
  10. Meet or exceed sales call goals set by the Director of Sales.
  11. Invite clients for hotel tours, entertainment, lunches, and site inspections.
  12. Assist with promotional activities like client events and sales blitzes.
  13. Prepare reports timely.
  14. Understand and implement sales policies with an emphasis on maximizing occupancy and ADR.
  15. Conduct professional site inspections with clients highlighting hotel features.
  16. Use Delphi FDC for managing hotel business activities.
  17. Meet and greet onsite contacts.
  18. Follow Prime Selling Time (PST) guidelines.
  19. Network through community and professional events.
  20. Review client feedback with the Director of Sales.
  21. Entertain clients appropriately.
  22. Participate in travel and trade shows.
  23. Handle inquiries as part of the Inquiry Day Program.

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of progressive hotel sales experience, or a 4-year college degree with 2+ years of related experience, or a 2-year degree with 4+ years of related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Delphi FDC, and company reports.

Physical Requirements

  • Long hours sometimes required.
  • Light physical effort, including lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds occasionally.
