  • Oversee all budgeting to ensure projects remain within budget limits; implement cost control systems; track all project costs.
  • Reviews and prepares documents for the Board and Bond Oversight Committee. ? Prepares budget and financial reports as required.
  • Coordinates planning of bond measure facility projects with management, staff, advisory committees, architects and other District consultants from conception through construction to project completion.
  • Ensures that the facilities department meets the operational deadlines requested by other departments or agencies.
  • Prioritizes, develops, and maintains detailed project plans to support the implementation of the facilities master plan.
  • Develops, updates and monitors project schedules; oversees all scheduling and other managerial aspects of bond program.
  • Oversees implementation of plan, including all phases of the construction, modernization and retrofitting process.
  • Tracks, monitors and oversees construction tasks completed by supervisors, contractors, and various trade workers.
  • Reports on the progress of the project to the facilities director, assistant superintendent of business services, and the superintendent.
  • Prepares comprehensive regular written and public reports to communicate status and progress to stakeholders and the board
  • Coordinates project phases, reviews financial statements and assures on-time delivery of projects.
  • Research, analyze and recommend the feasibility of various improvement operations for more cost-effective services.
  • Assists bid process for bond facility projects, and other projects funded by matching facility funds.
  • Coordinates with construction managers and schools/administrators to ensure smooth operations related to facility planning.
  • Meets with legal counsel on District’s behalf in contractual litigation and arbitration.
  • Participates in the selection of staff.
  • Assigns duties and supervises employees; performs employee evaluations.

  • Calendar and Compensation

    • $151,782.77 -$202,750.60 (CMC Salary Schedule, Range 18)

    Position Summary

    Under the direction of the facilities executive director, the bond program director is responsible for managing the implementation of the facilities master plan and prioritized bond program. The program director successfully tracks progress of all construction projects, from conceptualization to completion.
    Primary responsibilities may include:
    Program and Budget Management

    • Oversee all budgeting to ensure projects remain within budget limits; implement cost control systems; track all project costs.

    Performs related duties as assigned. The person in this position may be called in to work for any emergencies, and may be required to work extended hours to assist in managing a facilities based emergency.

    Qualifications
    Knowledge of

    Education and Experience College degree, Master’s preferred. Minimum five (5) years in public school and/or construction project management.
