Base pay range

$80,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

Summary:
The General Manager is responsible for ensuring the excellence, creativity, brand promise, and profitability of the restaurant. The position serves as a leader, educator, coach, and mentor to the front-of-house staff. The position makes service, operational, and purchasing decisions that positively impact the financial health of the business and does so in a way that is aligned with the culture and policies of our organization. This position combines the management of people with staff education, creative input, and financial responsibility in roughly equal parts.
Key Responsibilities:
Ongoing:

  • Maintaining costs for successful business operation, placing orders for all goods that fall outside the purview of bar and kitchen
  • Security functions of door locks and cashbox, safe handling, and banking
  • Keeping up-to-date licensing and preparing for health inspections, placing maintenance requests when required
  • P&L, inventory, nightly manager logs, and organizing minutes for weekly meetings
  • Staff training and supervision: Hiring, firing, discipline hearings, employee reviews, coaching/mentoring
  • Supervisory duties as it pertains to scheduling and payroll
  • Reports to Operations team, and Ownership
  • Manage and maintain staffing to align with labor goals
  • Maintains hospitality standards of the concept and culture at Esmé
Nightly:
  • Guest seating templates, menus, and outreach
  • Employee positions and side work assignments, hosting the preshift meeting
  • During service soliciting and communicating guest feedback
  • Filling any positions that are absent for illness, vacation, or gaps in hiring

  • Maintains Room Organization, Functionality, and Standards
  • Determines Nightly Floorplans
  • Communicates Allergies and Dietary Restrictions to Expeditor
  • Point Person For all New Hires
  • Organizes Pars for Orders
  • Assists with Tracking Inventory
  • Participates and Helps Lead Team Training and Drills
