Overview
As a Managing Director in Sponsor Finance-M, you will lead the origination, structuring, and execution of complex leveraged finance transactions for private equity-sponsored companies. You will be responsible for driving business growth, managing key client relationships, and providing strategic leadership to the sponsor finance team.
The role ensures proper controls are in place, manages and addresses emerging risks across the business unit, and maintains alignment with corporate strategy, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Transaction Origination and Execution (40%) : Lead the origination and execution of large, complex leveraged finance transactions; oversee deal teams throughout the transaction lifecycle; participate in credit committees and present investment recommendations to senior management.
- Client Relationship Management and Business Development (20%) : Develop and maintain strategic relationships with private equity sponsors and other key clients; provide market insights; contribute to business strategy development.
- Portfolio Management (10%) : Manage a portfolio of borrowing clients, monitor performance, and ensure the delivery of core banking products.
- Team Leadership and Stakeholder Collaboration (20%) : Lead and mentor the sponsor finance team; collaborate with cross-functional teams; develop financial products and strategies.
- Cross-functional Collaboration and Innovation (10%) : Work with teams to develop financial solutions and innovative products; represent the organization at industry events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience in Leveraged or Sponsor Finance Lending and Portfolio Management OR High School Diploma/GED with 12 years of experience.
- Preferred: MBA or relevant advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or Accounting.
- Experience in Commercial Banking, Corporate Finance, Credit Solutions, Sponsor Finance (10+ years).
- Experience with high-growth companies in early or middle stages of private equity ownership.
