The Role

a16z is growing, and we are looking to bring on a dynamic operations partner for our investing team. This team manages the deal process, from initial inbound deals to partnership meetings. In this role, you will be responsible for program management of our deal process and working cross-functionally with our investing team.

We seek a strong program manager who can work autonomously, demonstrating organizational skills, attention to detail, and integrity. You will work closely with all members of the investing team and should establish yourself as an expert on the deal process to provide guidance and support to facilitate deal closures.

We value candidates who respect and empathize with entrepreneurs, with proven experience in high-pressure client-facing situations, working with diverse executive styles, and handling all with professionalism and grace.

This is an in-person role based in Menlo Park, CA, or San Francisco, CA, with quarterly travel to other offices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building and maintaining relationships with Investing, Legal, Finance, and Operations teams.
  • Understanding and translating the investing team’s needs into effective processes and operational solutions.
  • Managing special projects aligned with the investing team’s goals.
  • Supporting the deal process and systems for Investing Partners.
  • Scheduling, preparing materials, and managing partnership meetings.
  • Tracking and reporting on deal pipelines.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience working at a technology company, preferably in sales operations or program management.
  • Ability to operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in ambiguity.
  • Responsiveness, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
  • Collaborative attitude, high empathy, and ability to build rapport.
  • Experience translating business needs into processes.
  • Willingness to learn about venture capital, new domains, and technologies.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and business reporting tools.

The salary range is $125,000 - $146,000, with possible bonuses, benefits, and participation in the a16z carry program.
