Guardant Health is seeking an experienced and strategic Director, Alliance Management to lead our Biopharma Alliance Management team. This individual will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration. The Director will serve as a strategic problem solver for key client relationships and lead the development and execution of customer engagement strategies.
The Director will play a critical leadership role in strengthening our partnerships with global biopharmaceutical companies, ensuring operational excellence and the delivery of mutual goals across strategic BioPharma accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Alliance Management BioPharma partnerships team.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and growth-oriented team culture.
- Develop and implement talent development plans to ensure team growth and individual career progression.
- Establish best practices, workflows, and KPIs for alliance management across the organization.
- Strategic Problem Solving
- Proactively identify partnership challenges and develop detailed action plans.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues, aligning internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop frameworks for issue triage and resolution with clear accountability, timelines, and success metrics.
- Translate customer needs into actionable strategies aligned with Guardant’s operational capabilities and business goals.
- Facilitate internal reviews to track progress, escalate issues, and improve service delivery.
- Key Account Management
- Develop and oversee strategic engagement plans for high-value biopharma partnerships.
- Align internal teams and customer stakeholders on shared objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
- Ensure successful execution of partnership goals, including milestones, reporting, and strategic reviews.
- Cultivate senior-level relationships with external partners to deepen collaboration and unlock future opportunities.
- Qualifications
- Typically requires a university degree and 15+ years of related experience; or 12+ years with a Master’s degree; or 8+ years with a PhD; or 5+ years with a PharmD/MD.
- 10+ years in biopharma alliance management, client success, or related roles.
- 3+ years of team leadership experience, preferably in life sciences or diagnostics.
- Deep understanding of oncology pharma and diagnostic landscape.
- Proven success managing complex, high-value partnerships.
- Exceptional problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong strategic thinking, project management, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees preferred.
- Hybrid Work Model : Employees within 50 miles of a Guardant facility are required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. This schedule promotes collaboration and focused work, supporting work-life balance.
- The US base salary range is $170,510 to $234,430, excluding benefits, bonuses, or equity. For Palo Alto or Redwood City, CA, the range is $200,600 to $275,800.
- Salary is determined by location, skills, experience, and education. Details will be provided during the hiring process.
