Our client is looking for experienced C++ engineers to join a high-performance trading firm operating at the bleeding edge of low-latency systems. You’ll work alongside traders, researchers, and other world-class engineers to architect, optimise, and deploy mission-critical infrastructure that directly impacts PnL.

This is a hands-on engineering role with real ownership, short dev cycles, and rapid feedback in a competitive yet collaborative environment.

Role:

• Design and build ultra-low-latency C++17/20 systems deployed directly into production
• Develop execution and market-making strategies in tandem with quant researchers
• Optimise for throughput, determinism, and latency across distributed systems
• Navigate complex trade-offs in hardware/software design
• Own performance from code to kernel, from nanoseconds to networking
• Advanced C++: Template metaprogramming, constexpr, move semantics, memory model tuning
• Systems-level optimisation: Lock-free data structures, NUMA awareness, cache line alignment
• Market connectivity: Exchange protocols, binary parsers, kernel bypass (DPDK, Solarflare)
• Environments: Linux, x86, tight CPU pinning, deterministic GC-free execution

Requirements

• 5+ years of modern C++ in low-latency, high-throughput environments
• Strong grasp of systems architecture, concurrency, and real-time performance
• Background in trading systems, exchange access, or low-latency networking is a major plus
• Experience working close to hardware, kernel, or with distributed infrastructure
• Pragmatic mindset with a passion for performance engineering

Locations: New York or Chicago (in-office, with flexibility)
