Job Title: In-House Legal Counsel

Compensation: $130,00-150,000 annually

Autzu is building the future of urban mobility through sustainable, autonomous electric vehicle fleets. As we continue to expand our operations, we're looking for a trusted legal advisor to join us on-site in our San Francisco office to guide the business through commercial, regulatory, and operational legal matters.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled In-House Legal Counsel with a strong background in civil litigation and contract law . This role is full-time, Monday through Friday (9 AM – 5 PM), and will be based in our downtown SF office . The ideal candidate will have a sharp legal mind, excellent judgment, and a proactive, business-minded approach to managing risk.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal guidance to leadership on commercial, regulatory, and operational matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including vendor agreements, NDAs, employment contracts, and SaaS agreements.
• Handle and advise on civil litigation matters and liaise with outside counsel as needed.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with local, state, and federal regulations relevant to mobility and technology operations.
• Develop internal legal policies, templates, and SOPs to streamline contract and compliance processes.
• Proactively identify legal risks and mitigation strategies across departments (operations, fleet, HR, etc.).
• Support fundraising and investment processes with legal diligence and documentation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with executive leadership, HR, fleet operations, and finance.

Requirements:

• JD from an accredited U.S. law school and active membership in the California Bar.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in civil litigation and contract drafting.
• Experience working with a fast paced Firm or in-house
• Experience working in-house or directly with startups, technology, or transportation companies preferred.
• Strong negotiation and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail, organizational awareness, and professional integrity.
• Ability to work independently and confidently advise internal stakeholders.
