As an Electronics Technician Maintenance III at the depot, you will apply advanced technical expertise and independent judgment to troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul HF/VHF/UHF communications and antenna systems at the component and subsystem level. You will also support engineering modifications and mentor junior technicians.
- Perform depot-level repairs on ship?board HF, VHF, and UHF line?of?sight and high?frequency communications and antenna systems.
- Analyze complex circuit malfunctionstrace signal flow, evaluate electromagnetic interactions, and isolate component-level faults.
- Use sophisticated test equipment, including logic analyzers, digital oscilloscopes, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and high?frequency pulse generators.
- Implement engineering design changes and system upgrades, validating conformance to specifications.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior Electronics Technicians.
- Review and contribute to technical documentationmaintenance plans, troubleshooting guides, and test reports.
- Collaborate with cross?functional teams (engineers, engineers, program managers) to ensure seamless system integration.
- Experience: Minimum 4 years hands?on experience with depot?level repair, installation, and troubleshooting of HF/VHF/UHF communications and antenna systems.
- Technical Proficiency: Fluent with HF, VHF, UHF communications gear; adept at analyzing circuit schematics and understanding signal flow.
- Test Equipment Skills: Competence with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, waveform generators, and other precision analytical tools
- Security & Travel: U.S. citizen eligible for Top Secret clearance and valid passport.
- Education: AA in Electronics or related discipline preferred, or equivalent vocational training and professional experience.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to mentor and supervise less experienced technicians.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to document repairs, coordinate engineering changes, and liaise with stakeholders.
Preferred (Not Required)
- Prior military experience , especially Navy ET or ETR background.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Experience working with antenna alignment, waveguides, and RF cable terminations.
