Position: Bus Driver
Job Qualifications:
MENTAL DEMANDS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
Tools/Equipment Used: Operate school bus; two-way radio; global positioning system (GPS); safety equipment including but not limited to flares, reflective signs, and fire extinguisher
Posture: Prolonged sitting; frequent standing and twisting; occasional kneeling/squatting, bending, stooping, and pushing/pulling
Motion: Prolonged driving; moderate walking; frequent climbing stairs, grasping/squeezing, wrist and shoulder flexion/extension, and reaching
Lifting: Frequent heavy lifting (45 pounds or over) and positioning of students with physical disabilities, controlling behavior through physical restraint, assisting nonambulatory students, and lifting and moving adaptive equipment
Environment: Frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, noise, and vehicle fumes; work around moving vehicles; regularly work irregular hours, and occasionally work prolonged hours

The district contributes $400/monthly to the cost of "employee-only" health insurance which is $175/monthly greater than the state required amount of $225/monthly.

Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Must be 18 years of age
- Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License with a "P and S" endorsement
- Must attend in-service training classes and safety meetings
- Assist challenging students being transported to and from school as well as performing related work activities in a safe and timely manner
- 180 Days for the 2025-2026 School Year
- 6 Hours per day guaranteed
- Assist in maintaining, reading and understanding route sheets including time changes
- Exercising student management through correct use of communication and discipline
- Report discipline problems through proper school district procedures
- Assist in the inspection of each vehicle before and after each trip using correct procedures and completing proper district documents.
