Location: Must be located in MN, WI, or ND. Can work out of any of our Vivie office locations or remotely.
Scope:
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility for services.
  • Obtain authorization for services from insurance providers.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and enter appropriate payer in client's chart within the software.
  • Notify administration and/or other staff of change in patient eligibility status.
  • Investigates any concerns with eligibility.
  • Obtain authorization from insurance company based on insurance payer requirements.
  • Verify authorization has been obtained with adequate number of visits.
  • Scan and enter authorization into the client chart within the software.
  • Audit and verify service agreements match information in software.
  • Ability to communicate with staff. Enter and maintain required logs and records within software for tracking and auditing purposes.
  • Communicate to staff when authorizations are not in place.
  • Follow and abide by the HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) privacy policy as administered by Knute Nelson.

Education and Experience Required:
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware and software applications.
  • Ability to learn new software programs.
  • Previous medical experience preferred with knowledge of medical insurances.
  • Able to physically perform the duties required by the position.
  • Required to have the ability to read, write and speak English well enough to communicate with staff, clients and visitors.
