We are seeking a Lead Piping Designer based in Claremont, CA, reporting to the Department Manager. This role oversees piping design, manages a team, ensures code compliance, and delivers high-quality drawings and documentation. You will develop processes, standards, and training, with strong knowledge of plant layout, equipment placement, and client interfacing.
Key Duties:
- Lead piping system design including plot plans, layouts, material, and support design.
- Review and approve piping drawings, isometrics, and calculations.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with disciplines for seamless integration and quality design.
- Communicate with clients to understand requirements and concerns.
- Mentor piping designers and engineers, in-person or online.
- Occasional visits to client offices and field sites; domestic/international travel may be required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 15 years piping layout and design experience in refinery/petrochemical industry.
- At least 5 years supervisory experience as piping lead.
- Knowledge of industry codes (ASME B31.1/B31.3, ASTM, API, MSS, PIP).
- Engineering degree preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in Intergraph SmartPlant Review, Navisworks, S3D, and Microstation.
- Strong estimating skills and good communication abilities.
- Willing to travel overseas as needed.
- Experience in plant revamps, constructability reviews, and turnaround planning is a plus.

Benefits:
- Base Salary: $125,500 - $142,700
