Job Description

This position is ideal for experienced CNC Programmers who want to make essential components for the worlds most innovative Space & Defense, Robotic Automation, Life Science, and Semiconductor OEMs using the most advanced CNC machining & inspection equipment.

Position Description

Plan, write, optimize and verify CNC CAM programs to fabricate close-tolerance metallic and nonmetallic parts on 5-Axis, 3-Axis vertical mill, and Lathe Live Tooling CNC machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Determine workpiece dimensions, select cutting tools, develop work-holding fixtures, and document process information using bill of materials, set-up sheets, in-process measurement checklists, and travelers. Reports to the Quality Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, write, optimize and verify CNC CAM programs to fabricate close-tolerance metallic and nonmetallic parts in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Determine workpiece dimensions, select cutting tools, develop work-holding fixtures, and document process information using bill of materials, set-up sheets, in-process measurement checklists, and travelers.
  • Ensure CNC machining processes achieve product quality, yield, and cycle time objectives.
  • Utilize CAD, CAM, and CMM inspection software for process improvements. Experience with Solidworks, MasterCAM, PC-DMIS and/or Vericut desirable.
  • Demonstrate strong time management skills with the ability to successfully coordinate multiple projects.
  • Follow established quality, maintenance, and safety standards.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years CNC programming experience, minimum 2 years experience programming with Mastercam required, Mill 3D (minimum) and Multi-Axis.
  • 3-Axis and 5-Axis tight-tolerance programming experience with parts approx. sizes 1x1x1 up to 18x18x18, primarily Aluminum, and a mix of SST, Kovar, steel, Delrin, etc.
  • Proficient with CAD and solid models. PC-DMIS CMM and Vericut programming experience desirable.
  • Experience with hand inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges), CMM and other inspection equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, bills of materials and work instructions.
  • Familiarity with the principles of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Able to provide written and verbal instructions to supplement drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to follow safety rules and procedures relating to quality, operation, and maintenance.
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills. Organization and time management skills required.
  • Able to interface with company personnel and customer representatives.
  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • US Person (citizen or Green Card holder).
