We are seeking a Mechanical Project Manager for large multi-family new construction projects in Wilmington and the surrounding area for the fastest growing Mechanical Contractor that has captured a significant portion of new construction East of 95. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing HVAC projects on new construction projects and will be working with executive leadership supporting their Multifamily Construction division. This individual will gain both office and job site experience to help them become proficient in performing plumbing system piping design, HVAC ductwork and HVAC pipe sizing and take off, air systems sizing, heating and cooling generation equipment sizing and estimating, temperature controls understanding and estimating, fire protection system for large multi-family and commercial construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Ability to coordinate the scheduling effort from preliminary design through procurement, construction, and closeout
- Skill to forecast a project from a schedule perspective
- Work closely and effectively with 3rd party team members and gain commitments to the project constructability expectations related to time
- Provide general support to our client's field operations by reviewing field change orders and assisting in answering contractors' request for information
- Process submittals and RFI's
- Enforce corporate safety policies on jobsite
- Provide technical support for resolution and tracking of project issues
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems in commercial or multifamily construction
- Prior estimating or construction job site exposure is a plus
- Prior knowledge of micros soft word/ Excel, is essential, "on screen" take off and Revet modeling is a plus
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
