Summary of Essential Functions:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair construction equipment, fleet vehicles, and trailers (gas, diesel, and electrical systems).
- Perform DOT inspections and ensure vehicles meet compliance standards.
- Coordinate and schedule planned and unplanned maintenance with drivers and operators.
- Lead and mentor the mechanical team, assigning tasks and ensuring quality work.
- Manage daily workflow, monitor productivity, and communicate progress to management.
- Maintain accurate service records, inspection logs, and work orders in maintenance software.
- Source and order parts, collaborate with vendors, and manage parts inventory.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns with on-site repair support.
- Mount and balance tires; perform repairs on gate operators as needed.
- Conduct weekly fuel inventory checks (gas and diesel).
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized shop.
- Support other operational areas as needed, including familiarity with yard layout and material/tool locations.
- Serve as the first point of contact for maintenance-related questions or concerns.
- Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of 1-ton diesel trucks, skid steers, small engines, and trailers.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and pump operations.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
- Ability to perform repairs efficiently and meet service timelines.
- Basic computer proficiency required; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
