Winpak Films Inc. is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our Operational Excellence team in Senoia, GA. In this role, you will lead initiatives to improve quality, reduce waste, increase output, and enhance overall process efficiency. You will partner closely with operations, engineering, and quality teams to drive measurable improvements and support Winpak’s commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable packaging solutions.
This position is ideal for an experienced engineer looking to deepen their expertise in polymer processing and prepare for a future leadership role in manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead process improvement initiatives focused on quality, waste reduction, output improvement, and cost optimization.
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain process data to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with operators, engineers, and production managers to troubleshoot and optimize extrusion and film processes.
  • Support new process development, equipment modifications, and capital projects in partnership with the Project Engineer.
  • Apply statistical methods (SPC, DOE) to control process variables and improve product consistency.
  • Assist with product quality investigations and collaborate with the Quality Manager on process-related improvements.
  • Develop and deliver process training for the operations team.
  • Stay current on advancements in polymer processes and flexible packaging technologies.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Operational Excellence Manager.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial or Polymer focus preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment; plastic processing and/or film extrusion experience preferred.
  • Experience with data analysis and process troubleshooting in an industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control and experimental design (SPC, DOE).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools (SMED, VSM, 5S, TPM, Kaizen, DMAIC).
  • Experience with ROI evaluation and capital project approval processes.
  • Exposure to web handling and polymer processing (extrusion, blown film, double/triple bubble processes).
  • Prior experience in leading process improvement initiatives or preparing for a management career path.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • 50% office / 50% manufacturing floor, including exposure to heights, noise, and temperature variations.
  • Regular walking, standing, stair climbing, and occasional lifting of 25–50 lbs.
