What You'll Do:
As our Lead Estimator, you’ll lead all aspects of cost estimating — from interpreting plans and developing takeoffs, to preparing winning proposals and cultivating our estimating team. Your work will serve as the foundation for successful bids and profitable execution across our commercial landscape construction projects.
Core Responsibilities:
Estimating & Proposal Management:
- Review and analyze plans, specifications, and scope documents to create detailed and accurate cost estimates
- Perform and prepare quantity take-offs for labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing for hardscape, softscape, irrigation, grading, drainage, lighting, and other landscape elements
- Develop complete bid packages, proposals, and scope letters
- Collaborate with project managers, field leaders, and sales to align project strategies with bid assumptions
Leadership & Mentorship:
- Provide support and mentorship to estimating team on process, accuracy, and professional development
- Establish and uphold standard practices for bid reviews, internal deadlines, and value engineering
Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination:
- Solicit, review, and compare quotes to ensure completeness and competitiveness
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and accurate industry pricing databases
Systems & Process Oversight:
- Manage estimate logs, cost histories, and project data for forecasting and reporting
- Support submittal procurement, preconstruction meetings and turnover to operations teams
