Senior Director of Banquets | Luxury Hospitality | Executive-Level Role
We’re seeking a dynamic Senior Director of Banquets to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of banquet operations across a high-profile luxury hospitality environment. This executive-level role oversees all banquet programming—from large-scale galas and high-touch social events to corporate functions and seasonal activations—ensuring service excellence, operational efficiency, and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Oversight & Event Leadership
- Lead the planning, coordination, and flawless execution of all banquet functions
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Catering, Culinary, and Operations to drive innovation and guest satisfaction
- Serve as the senior liaison for VIP clients and key accounts, ensuring elevated, bespoke experiences
- Develop SOPs and scalable systems for multi-venue banquet operations
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Direct and inspire a large, diverse banquet team including managers, captains, servers, and bartenders
- Implement performance management systems and ongoing training programs
- Foster a culture of service excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
- Champion the highest standards of service, presentation, and personalization
- Handle escalated guest concerns and feedback with diplomacy and agility
- Uphold brand reputation through meticulous attention to detail and consistency
Financial & Operational Management
- Oversee banquet P&L, labor planning, and cost control measures
- Drive top-line revenue through upselling strategies and premium event offerings
- Optimize event flow, room setup logistics, and inventory management to ensure efficiency
- Approve and audit BEOs, ensuring all aspects of execution are aligned with client expectations
Vendor & Partner Relations
- Manage key vendor relationships and negotiate favorable contracts
- Ensure vendor compliance with service and safety standards
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations
- Conduct regular venue walk-throughs and post-event debriefs to identify areas for improvement
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of progressive banquet or event leadership in luxury hospitality
- Proven success in managing large-scale, high-touch events
- Strong financial acumen with experience overseeing multi-million-dollar banquet operations
- Executive presence with excellent client relations, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in event tech, POS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
Work Requirements:
- Ability to lead during evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules
- Must be comfortable navigating fast-paced, high-volume event environments
