Position Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and technically minded Sourcing Manager to lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies for critical precision mechanical and electromechanical components , including isolators, encoders, controllers, air bearings, and granite assemblies.
This role is pivotal in ensuring supply continuity, cost competitiveness, and supplier innovation across both New Product Introduction (NPI) and high-volume manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own global sourcing strategy for assigned commodities within the Precision Motion & Mechanical Subsystems category.
- Manage supplier relationships, including qualification, performance reviews, and business continuity planning.
- Lead negotiations for pricing, terms, and strategic agreements; drive year-over-year cost reduction initiatives.
- Partner with engineering and NPI teams to support sourcing for new designs and product introductions.
- Develop dual/multi-sourcing options to reduce risk and improve delivery assurance.
- Monitor market trends and proactively identify supply constraints or opportunities.
- Conduct supplier capability assessments and drive corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Engineering, Planning, and Legal.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 8+ years of sourcing or supplier management experience in semiconductor capital equipment , precision components , or complex electro-mechanical systems .
- Proven track record in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and cost modeling.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes for machined parts, assemblies, and motion systems.
- Experience supporting NPI and managing sourcing through the product lifecycle.
- ERP and supply chain system proficiency (SAP, Oracle, Ariba, etc.).
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and project management skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with coated optics, test equipment, cable assemblies, or laser system components.
- Global supplier management experience, especially in low-cost regions.
- APICS, CPM, or Six Sigma certifications a plus.
