We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel for our direct client who will identify significant legal issues and provide accurate, relevant, and timely legal support to various business stakeholders of the Smart Logistics business.


This role provides legal support for logistics claims and risk mitigation, including SOP development, insurance filings, and regulatory compliance. It also involves drafting and negotiating contracts across global supply chain operations, with a focus on 3PL/4PL, warehousing, transportation, and trade.

Require strong logistics knowledge, clear communication, sound judgment, and effective collaboration with legal, business, and external partners.



Responsibilities:


  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents related to claims and logistics services (e.g., warehouse and transportation agreements).
  • Provide legal counsel on claims, complaints, and contractual matters; determine claim validity, coverage, and liability.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders and external parties such as insurers, brokers, legal counsel, and third-party administrators.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory changes; interpret laws, policies, and contracts to guide internal decisions.
  • Represent Legal in meetings with internal teams and third parties (customers, vendors, partners).
  • Prepare reports and analyses, including claims data and management updates.
  • Promote legal compliance and deliver training on relevant legal topics.
  • Coordinate with external claims adjusters to resolve logistics-related claims.
  • Support SOP development and claims litigation strategies, including negotiations and participation in arbitration or trial when necessary.



Qualifications:


  • Active member of the State Bar of Texas, in good standing.
  • At least 6 years’ relevant legal working experience, particularly in trucks/trailers, cargo/freight damages, property damages, maritime claims, disputes, and insurance
  • Able to produce reports to support findings and analyses.
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate information in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Positive attitude and high energy to work in a fast-paced environment, maintain a sense of urgency, and perform with a clear head under pressure.
  • Self-motivated individual, assertive attitude, excel in a team-based environment yet able to work independently.
  • Be able to multitask and collaborate across different time zones.
  • Strong customer service, people skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and web-based applications, claims platform.
  • Travel upto 10% throughout the U.S.
