A leading U.S.-based machine tool and automation company is looking for an experienced Senior CNC Applications Engineer .

This is a high-impact, customer-facing role focused on CNC programming, machine setup, technical support, and customer training. The ideal candidate is a skilled machinist and programmer with deep experience across CNC machine types and strong communication skills.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide advanced technical support for CNC machines, both remotely and on-site.
  • Set up, program, and optimize multi-axis CNC machines for precision machining applications.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, and machining processes.
  • Train customers on machine operation, programming, and maintenance best practices.
  • Document programming standards, workflows, and support procedures.
  • Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to customize machining solutions.
  • Stay current with new CNC technologies and implement improvements to enhance efficiency.

What You Bring:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in CNC machining, programming, and applications.
  • Proficiency in G-code, M-code, and FANUC controls (additional platforms a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining.
  • Background in tooling, materials, cutting strategies, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM systems (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with automation/robotics is a plus.
  • Ability to travel for installations, support, and training (~occasional).
