GC – CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR

Delta Construction Partners is a national executive search firm for the nation’s premier electrical, mechanical, and general contractors and industry professionals. Delta has been retained by a confidential client to conduct a search for an Estimator in Tampa, FL.


ESTIMATOR COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The annual salary for the Estimator is between $90,000 – $110,000 , depending on experience, with total compensation including benefits, bonus, insurance, and other incentives far exceeding the stated salary.

ESTIMATOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Estimator with ground-up General Contractor experience to prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects ranging from $1M to $15M+. The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative, and driven to exceed client expectations. This role is essential to the preconstruction process and requires proactive leadership, clear communication, and strong cost-control insight.

  • Prepare and complete forecasts of project costs by reviewing drawings, specs, site visits, and compiling CSI-based takeoffs
  • Develop, distribute, and manage bid packages to subcontractors and vendors
  • Evaluate labor, equipment, materials, transportation, and logistics for cost input
  • Review, level, and qualify subcontractor/vendor bids
  • Create detailed written scopes, assumptions, clarifications, and value engineering options
  • Lead estimating efforts for design-bid-build and negotiated GC/CM projects
  • Confidently present estimate details internally and externally with clients
  • Collaborate with project managers, field staff, and clients to meet bid deadlines
  • Mentor junior team members including assistant estimators, interns, and coordinators
  • Represent the company in industry associations and contractor networks
  • Travel to pre-bid site walks and other events as needed


ESTIMATOR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction (healthcare, financial, light industrial)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple active estimates simultaneously
  • Proficient with BuilderTrend, OST, MS Office, estimating software, and blueprint reading
  • Strong communication and analytical skills; detail-oriented and deadline-driven
  • In-depth knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and quality standards
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
  • Stable work history required
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.


PREFERRED BUT NOT NECESSARY

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certified
  • Procore certifications
