Position Summary:
This individual will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, promoting a safe work environment, and maintaining quality standards throughout operations. The EHS/Quality Supervisor will lead the continued development, implementation, and monitoring of EHS and quality programs to foster a culture of safety, regulatory compliance, and product excellence. This position will allocate 85% of time to safety-related activities and 15% to quality oversight.
Position Responsibilities:
EHS Compliance and Safety Programs —
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Ensure compliance with EHS and facilities regulations and codes
- Conduct regular safety inspections and environmental audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory bodies
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety laws and regulations and communicate changes to the team
- Collaborate with management to ensure EHS considerations are integrated into operational planning and activities
- Act as the primary point of contact to applicable regulatory agencies and government authorities
- Maintain records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incidents
Incident Reporting and Investigation —
- Report and document all accidents, incidents, and near misses, conducting thorough investigations to determine root causes
- Provide recommendations for corrective and preventative actions to mitigate future risks to the safety committee
- Prepare and submit all required safety reports to regulatory agencies in a timely manner with Human Resources
- Ensure emergency response activities are performed effectively
Training and Education —
- Lead the employee safety training program, including developing and delivering training curricula and selecting/evaluating outside consultants or trainers when necessary
- Coordinate new employee safety training programs, including emergency response procedures and hazard communication
- Develop and implement training materials and resources for safety awareness
- Ensure all employees are properly trained in the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency response procedures
- Coordinate ongoing safety training for new and current employees on various safety topics
Environmental Compliance —
- Monitor and manage environmental risks and ensure compliance with environmental laws, including waste disposal, water treatment, and air quality
- Oversee the disposal and recycling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Ensure accurate management of hazardous waste and emergency response programs
Quality Oversight and Continuous Improvement —
- Lead the development and implementation of quality management programs, ensuring product excellence and alignment with customer requirements
- Drive the identification and resolution of quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Conduct regular product quality inspections and audits, ensuring production standards meet specifications and customer expectations
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure quality standards are integrated into all stages of production
- Ensure product quality documentation is accurate and up-to-date, including quality control reports, inspection records, and corrective action plans
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to various noise levels from machinery and equipment
- Exposure to varying light levels from environments
- Working in diverse environments, including office, warehouse, and manufacturing settings
- Handling of hazardous materials, including chemicals, oils, and industrial waste
- Frequent walking and standing on factory floors, with possible exposure to ranging temperatures
- Working in fluctuating environmental temperature conditions
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, or a related field preferred
- Certification in Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to conduct safety audits and environmental assessments
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
- Strong leadership skills to manage and engage teams, including fostering a culture of safety and quality

- Ability to climb ladders or working at heights, occasionally
- Ability to perform repetitive motions (e.g., bending, squatting, twisting) associated with safety checks or inspections
