We’re looking for a Design Team Leader to manage the full multidisciplinary design scope for a technically complex, large-scale advanced manufacturing facility. This high-impact role is ideal for a hands-on leader with experience in regulated, high-performance environments such as cleanroom production, precision manufacturing, or mission-critical infrastructure.

You’ll lead cross-functional coordination across architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and automation systems—working closely with construction and commissioning teams to ensure an integrated and buildable design.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage full facility design delivery: architectural, HVAC zoning, clean utilities
  • Ensure compliance with GMP-equivalent design standards
  • Review and approve P&IDs, layouts, and detailed drawings
  • Coordinate internal design staff, external consultants, and subcontracted engineers
  • Lead BIM coordination and clash detection workflows
  • Drive value engineering to improve efficiency, space, and energy performance
  • Interface with permitting authorities and support regulatory design submittals
  • Collaborate closely with construction and validation leads to ensure seamless execution
  • Mentor junior engineers and reinforce a culture of quality and safety

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
  • 10+ years of facility design experience, including at least 3 years in clean, high-spec, or controlled environments
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and BIM360
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams under tight schedules
  • Strong understanding of environmental controls, contamination prevention, and integrated utility systems

Preferred:

  • Experience with Texas-based projects
  • Familiarity with commissioning and startup interface
  • Exposure to international project teams
  • LEED certification or sustainable design experience
  • EPCM or Design-Build background.
