Arrowhead Talent Solutions is helping a manufacturing company find an EHS Specialist in the Greater Akron area.
The EHS Specialist will support and enhance the company's commitment to environmental stewardship, employee safety, and regulatory compliance. This role plays a critical part in creating a safe and sustainable workplace by implementing, monitoring, and improving EHS policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA)
- Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
- Investigate incidents and lead corrective action initiatives
- Monitor hazardous materials and waste disposal processes
- Deliver EHS training and awareness campaigns to employees
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports related to EHS compliance
- Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies during audits and inspections
- Support emergency preparedness and response procedures
- Drive continuous improvement of EHS systems and culture
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in an EHS-related role (manufacturing or industrial environment preferred)
- Working knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT)
- Certification(s) such as CSP, CIH, or OSHA 30-hour training is a plus
- Proficiency with MS Office and EHS management software
