Senior Project Engineer | Heavy Civil Construction | Colorado-Based
A leading ENR-ranked heavy civil general contractor with a strong presence across Colorado is confidentially seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support ongoing transportation and
infrastructure projects across the Front Range.
This position is ideal for professionals with 6+ years of field-based civil construction experience , particularly those who have worked on roadways, bridge programs, and underground utility scopes . The role offers a balance of office and field work , with assignments across Denver, Colorado Springs, and Northern Colorado.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support full project lifecycle—preconstruction through closeout—across multiple infrastructure projects
- Assist with estimating, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and subcontractor management
- Coordinate field activities and logistics with superintendents and foremen
- Manage documentation, safety compliance, contract changes, and stakeholder communication
- Ensure work is completed to plan specs, on schedule, and within budget
- Represent the company in client meetings, inspections, and preconstruction planning
- Leverage project controls tools and platforms (Viewpoint proficiency is a plus)
- Lead internal planning on traffic control, erosion control, haul roads, and safety compliance
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of heavy civil project engineering experience (highways, bridges, underground utilities preferred)
- Bachelor’s in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
- Demonstrated success working on DOT and public works programs
- Ability to communicate effectively with field teams, subcontractors, and clients
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving ability and a desire for long-term growth
Compensation Range: $100,000 – $130,000 (based on experience)
Location: Colorado Front Range (Office based in South Denver; project travel across the region required)
