Company is a fast-growing, reputable civil construction company specializing in both public and private sector development. We focus on delivering high-quality site development projects — from underground utilities to mass grading — across Nashville. We're seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Civil Estimator to join our dynamic team.


Position Overview:

As a Civil Estimator , you’ll be responsible for accurately preparing cost estimates for underground utility and mass excavation projects. You’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure competitive, accurate bids that reflect our commitment to quality and efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed estimates for site development, including underground utilities (water, sewer, storm) and mass earthwork/excavation.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs using Agtek (required).
  • Analyze drawings, specs, RFPs, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
  • Solicit subcontractor and supplier pricing for inclusion in bids.
  • Collaborate with the preconstruction team and attend pre-bid meetings.
  • Assist with bid strategy, scope reviews, and value engineering options.
  • Track and maintain historical cost data for future estimating accuracy.
  • Contribute to post-bid reviews and handoff to project management teams.


Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in civil estimating, specifically for underground utilities and mass excavation .
  • Strong proficiency with Agtek for earthwork and utility takeoffs (required).
  • Experience with both public and private development projects .
  • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and pricing.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret civil construction plans, specs, and survey data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software (e.g., HeavyBid, B2W, or similar).
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience preferred.
