Job Title : Assistant Project Manager / Field Engineer

Location : New Albany, OH

Duration : 12 months

Rate : $38 - $48/hr

Per Diem : Local only

Hours : 40-50 hours per week, 1.5X OT


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager with day-to-day project coordination, including documentation and communication with contractors, engineers, and clients.
  • Prepare and manage project paperwork such as notices of delay, action item lists, RFIs, submittals, and progress tracking reports.
  • Monitor field activities and verify work is being executed per construction documents, specifications, and company standards.
  • Support the resolution of field-level design and engineering issues to avoid schedule delays.
  • Coordinate and communicate with subcontractors to ensure scope, schedule, and quality expectations are met.
  • Help maintain an up-to-date project action log, track follow-ups, and flag outstanding issues.
  • Collaborate with site and safety managers to assist with safety documentation and compliance-related tasks.
  • Participate in site walks and assist with progress documentation and reporting.
  • Provide regular updates to project leadership regarding schedule, field status, and potential issues.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in field engineering, project coordination, or assistant PM roles on large construction projects (data center or mission-critical experience is a plus).
  • Familiarity with construction documents, drawings, submittals, and RFI processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; detail-oriented with excellent follow-through.
  • Comfortable working on active job sites and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms is a plus.
