Construction Project Engineer

Established company in Rancho Cordova is hiring a Project Engineer (I or II) to support capital construction projects for water utility infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory standards. This is a full time position with excellent salary and benefits package. What You’ll Do:

• Oversee or support delivery of multiple capital projects from planning through construction.
• Coordinate internal teams, contractors, and public agencies to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor schedules, budgets, and quality control; recommend or implement corrective actions as needed.
• Represent company in communications with cities, counties, and utilities.
• Prepare progress reports and maintain project documentation.

Qualifications for Project Engineer I:

• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.
• Bachelor’s in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
• Project management software knowledge preferred.

Qualifications for Project Engineer II:

• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.
• Same education as above + 2+ years of public works or utility construction management experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or PMP certification strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to manage projects independently and mentor junior staff.

Salary Range:

• Project Engineer I : $90k-111k/yr. depending on qualifications
• Project Engineer II: $ 105k-144k/yr. depending on qualifications
