Position Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Electrical Project Manager (Industrial) with proven experience in electrical or prime contracting within water resource and wastewater treatment facilities, and medium to high-voltage power distribution systems. This position will be located on-site in the Santa Clarita, CA area.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems in municipal or industrial infrastructure, with the ability to manage complex projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role is responsible for overseeing all phases of project execution, ensuring technical, financial, and schedule objectives are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage full lifecycle of electrical construction projects within water/wastewater treatment plants, power distribution facilities, and related utility infrastructure.
- Serve as primary point of contact for clients, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, submittal logs, procurement plans, and change order documentation.
- Coordinate design reviews, value engineering, and constructability analyses.
- Lead project kickoff meetings and regular progress meetings with stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA).
- Oversee subcontractor performance, materials procurement, and vendor coordination.
- Collaborate with estimating team during bid phase to assess scope, risks, and pricing strategies.
- Track project costs, labor productivity, and forecasts using appropriate project management tools.
- Provide timely reporting to senior management and clients on project status and risk mitigation.
- Ensure proper closeout procedures including as-built documentation, commissioning, and client turnover.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, or Construction Management preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of electrical project management experience.
- Direct experience with water/wastewater treatment facilities, power distribution centers, and/or municipal utility infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems (480V to 35kV), switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, SCADA/instrumentation.
- Familiarity with industrial electrical standards and specifications (e.g., UL, IEEE, NEMA).
- Proven experience managing budgets in excess of $25M+ and diverse project teams.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Primavera, or equivalent).
Desired Experience:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician certification.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credential.
- Experience with alternative delivery methods (Design-Build, CMAR).
- Knowledge of state/local agency requirements (e.g., EPA, Department of Water Resources).
