About the Role
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who understands the complexities of managing trades, schedules, inspections, and safety on active municipal projects. Experience building on or near the water — with associated water table, dewatering, and soil stabilization challenges — is essential.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead on-site authority for all field construction activities, from mobilization to final inspection.
- Direct subcontractor performance, logistics, and sequencing to maintain schedule integrity and construction quality.
- Enforce all safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and NYC construction regulations.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to maintain updated schedules, coordinate inspections, and respond to design clarifications or field conditions.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, field documentation, and progress tracking using tools such as Procore, Fieldwire, or similar.
- Conduct daily safety meetings, manage quality control walk-throughs, and uphold performance standards across all trades.
- Interface with third-party inspectors, city agencies (DOB, DEP), and utility companies to ensure all inspections and milestones are met.
- Collaborate with DDC representatives and ensure city-specific protocols are followed throughout the project.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience on vertical construction projects, preferably public-sector or municipal buildings.
- Experience with NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC) protocols strongly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of NYC Building Code, OSHA standards, and trade coordination across MEP, structural, and civil disciplines.
- Proficiency in field reporting software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam).
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to maintain control over complex, multi-trade sites.

- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety (Required)
- NYC DOB 62-Hour SST Supervisor Card (Required or obtainable before mobilization)
Preferred Skills
- NYC Site Safety Manager License (Preferred)
- CPR/First Aid Certification (Preferred)
