*Job Summary* We are a renowned leader in the apparel manufacturing industry, dedicated to creating high-quality garments for a diverse range of clients. We are seeking a talented Technical Designer to join our design team and help bring our innovative designs to life with precision and technical expertise. *Position Overview:* The Technical Designer will play a key role in the product development process by translating design concepts into technical specifications, ensuring that garments are produced with the highest level of quality, fit, and functionality. This role requires a keen eye for detail, proficiency in technical design, and the ability to collaborate closely with the design and production teams. *Key Responsibilities:* Technical Design & Specification Development: Create and edit spec/grading page of tech pack. Take ownership to maintain accuracy of all specs, grading and construction up to date Ensure that designs are accurately communicated to the production team, including information on stitching, finishing, and overall garment construction. Work closely with designers to adapt designs for manufacturability while maintaining design intent. Establish and maintain company brand fit and spec. *Fit & Pattern Development:* Oversee the development of patterns and fittings to ensure that designs fit properly across various sizes and styles. Evaluate the fit and construction of proto and production samples. Conduct fitting sessions and evaluate the fit of garments on fit models, making adjustments and revisions as necessary. Implement design change and fit comment, pass corrections to pattern maker and sample maker, make contingency plans as necessary Collaborate with pattern makers and sample makers to refine patterns for production. *Material & Trim Selection:* Assist in selecting fabrics, trims, and materials that align with design aesthetics and functionality. Ensure that materials and trims meet the technical specifications and can be efficiently produced. *Collaboration with Production Teams:* Work closely with the production team to ensure that garments are produced to specification, within budget, and on schedule. Troubleshoot any technical issues that arise during production, such as fit problems or construction challenges, and provide solutions. *Quality Control & Standards Compliance:* Maintain garment construction standards and ensure that the final product meets the company's quality requirements. Perform quality control inspections throughout the sample development process and production to ensure consistency and quality. *Sample Review & Evaluation:* Review samples with design and production teams, ensuring accuracy in terms of fit, construction, and design execution. Provide feedback to suppliers and manufacturers regarding sample revisions and improvements. Evaluate samples and inspect finished products to ensure that they are free from defects. *Technical Documentation:* Maintain and update detailed records of technical specifications, design revisions, and sample approval statuses. Prepare and present technical design documentation for internal and external stakeholders. *Problem Solving & Issue Resolution:* Address technical design issues related to production, such as garment fit, fabric behavior, or construction challenges. Provide actionable solutions to ensure product consistency and timely delivery. *Qualifications:* *Education:* Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Apparel Manufacturing, or a related field. Additional certifications in pattern making, garment technology, or technical design are a plus. *Experience:* 5 years (+) of experience in outer wear and military uniform technical design and garment production. - Hands-on experience with tech packs, garment construction, and fit adjustments. - Familiarity with the apparel manufacturing process, from prototype to production. *Skills & Abilities:* Detailed knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims, and industry standards. Excellent understanding of pattern making, grading, and garment fitting techniques. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with design, production, and manufacturing teams. Basic technical understanding of Microsoft Excel. English must. Spanish and Korean a plus. Ability to work independently, prioritize and multi-task while maintaining a positive and collaborative attitude.
