Our organization is currently seeking a Product Pricing Analyst.
A successful candidate will be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Job Summary
A Product Pricing Analyst is responsible for analyzing market trends, competitors, and customer behavior to develop and recommend pricing strategies that optimize gross profit and market share. They work closely with sales, marketing, engineering, and finance teams to set competitive pricing, for products and services, in line with the market.
Success as a Product Pricing Analyst is being able to achieve the following expectations:
Pricing Strategy Development

  • Analyze cost(s), pricing data, and market trends to help create and adjust pricing strategies.
  • Develop competitive pricing models based on market conditions, product lifecycle, and business goals.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product teams to align pricing strategies with business objectives.
Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Collect and interpret data on competitor pricing, customer purchasing behavior, and market conditions.
  • Perform pricing analysis to evaluate the gross profit of different product offerings.
  • Prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior management regarding cost challenges, pricing adjustments, and strategies.
Forecasting & Modeling
  • Build and maintain pricing models that factor cost, while projecting the impact of price changes on sales, gross profit margin, and market share.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and pricing sensitivity tests to understand the effect of price changes.
Price Optimization
  • Implement and monitor pricing changes to maximize gross profit while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Work on dynamic pricing strategies for specific markets, ensuring optimal price points for different customer segments or product offerings.
Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with the finance department to ensure pricing decisions align with financial goals and gross profit targets.
  • Collaborate with the product, marketing, and sales teams to understand product features, positioning, and target markets.
Market Research
  • Keep up to date with market trends, competitor pricing, and industry's best practices.
  • Conduct regular competitive analysis and adjust pricing strategies as needed to maintain a competitive edge.
System Maintenance
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date pricing in internal systems and databases.
  • Assist in implementing new pricing tools or technologies to streamline pricing processes.
The key behaviors / skills required for this role are:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, pricing software, and data analysis tools. Knowledge of ERP systems in a plus.
  • Strong data analysis and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail and the ability to interpret large datasets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Possess a good understanding of pricing strategies, financial modeling, and the ability to make decisions based on market dynamics.
  • Ability to think strategically while also paying attention to tactical details.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive and collaborative team player with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Education Required For This Role
  • Bachelor's degree in finance preferred, or business-related field (Master's degree is a plus)
  • 3-5 years of experience in pricing analysis, business analysis, or related fields. Combination of work experience and education will be considered
Additional Requirements
  • Must meet and maintain all requirements to be a 'Driver' as defined in Adrian Steel Fleet Corporate Driving Policy
  • Valid driver's license
  • Acceptable driving record (Adrian Steel authorized)
  • This role requires an estimated 25-50% travel, with a higher intensity during the initial 18-24 months as you build relationships and gather market insight.
