The opportunity
Fiduciary Trust & Estate Tax Administration Services (FTEAS) provides fiduciary/court accounting services for banks, law firms, family offices and individuals. The role of the Analyst is to assist the team in the successful management of the FTEAS business conducted out of his or her respective office and assisting, when requested, the FTEAS leadership team in developing and implementing the overall strategy of the FTEAS business.
Your key responsibilities
- Provide trust tax compliance outsourcing and support services for organizations utilizing a trust accounting system, including banks, wealth management firms, family offices, trust companies, and law firms.
- Review, prepare, and oversee accounts, manage client relationships, and maximize operating efficiency.
Skills and attributes for success
- Prepare and review fiduciary accountings for trusts, estates, and guardianships.
- Review trust and estate documents, including trust instruments, wills, and IRS Form 706.
- Review and interpret source data (e.g., bank statements, brokerage statements, checking accounts) for proper accounting treatment.
- Participate in training to maintain and enhance knowledge of fiduciary law and software applications.
- Communicate regularly with client liaison and trust administration teams.
- Manage end-to-end accounting processes, including monthly billing.
- Organize and maintain personal workload efficiently.
- Maintain required CPE credits annually.
- Participate in business development activities.
To qualify for the role you must have
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in fiduciary accountings.
- Knowledge of fiduciary accounting law.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience managing client relationships.
- Attention to detail and technical proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Approximately 2 years of professional services or tax organization experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt work style for internal and client teams.
- Willingness to travel and work in a hybrid environment.
Ideally, youll also have
- Experience with Thomson Reuters FAS system (preferred).
- A Paralegal degree with trust and estate knowledge (preferred).
- Experience in a law firm (preferred).
